Are you giving your all?

And he called his disciples to him and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box."
--Mark 12:43
Money talks. I'm sure you've heard that saying, and it's true.
We can learn a great deal about ourselves by reviewing our bank statements and credit card receipts. Our financial records provide a reliable account of our personalities, priorities, interests, and ambitions.
In fact, few things say as much about you and me as how we handle money. It's an important topic. And that's why Jesus dealt with the subject perhaps more than any other subject. In fact, one-third of the parables are about the stewardship of possessions and the management of money... how we earn it, save it, and spend it.
And there's an interesting account in the book of Mark (12:41) where Jesus stood at the temple treasury so he could watch how people gave their offerings. When he saw the widow give all she had, he was deeply touched. He gathered his disciples and said, "Others have given more, but this woman gave her all. This is the heart attitude I'm looking for in my Kingdom."
So what does your money... and how you give to the Kingdom... say about you?
Make it your goal to honor Christ in how you spend your money and give your all to him.
FEW THINGS SAY AS MUCH ABOUT YOU AND ME AS HOW WE HANDLE MONEY.
