Venice Japanese Community Center to celebrate its 100-year history book, Jan 15, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

The Venice Japanese Community Center is celebrating the release of its book, "Venice Japanese Community Center and the 100+ Year History of the Japanese American Community of Venice, California," with a reception on Saturday January 15, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Venice Japanese Community Center, 12448 Braddock Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90066, (310)822-8839.


The book is a 260-page hardback, full of interviews, photographs,documents,church archives, community center newsletters, family albums, and lots of memories by the people who lived this story.


The book is published by the VJCC; written by Perry Miyake Jr. with Tiffany (Yoshikawa) Sato and AlexaGiffen; and its graphics, book and cover design and layout were done by Jennifer Ogasawara.


This reception will feature refreshments and appearances by participants and contributors to this history, as well as pre-order distribution and on-site purchases of the book for the advance order price of $40.


Pickup and purchase will also be available Sunday January 16, 1-5 pm; Mon-Fri, January 17-21, 9am to 1 pm; Sat/Sun, January 22-23 & 20-30, 1-5 pm. 


Check or cash only.  Regular retail price of $80 goes into effect after January 31.


Direction to VJCC:  Fwy 405 to Marina Fwy (90) West to Centinela Exit, right to First signal (Braddock), left half block on left, parking in lot or around Marina del Rey Middle School on the next block west.
