Veteran singer Teruko Oba founded the Doyo Museum in Kumamoto to revive Doyo songs in Japan. Doyo genre emerged in 1920s by efforts of educators and artists to provide new type of music to Japanese children. Doyo, once an essential element of Japan's musical education, is declining for last few decades.

Japanese people over 50s are still familiar with Doyo genre today, and for those generation, Doyo songs bring a great affection to them. There are hundreds of beautiful songs written but they are almost unknown in the West.

On Sept. 11, the program includes "Yurigkago no uta" (Song of Cradle), "Sato no Aki" (Autumn at a Village), "Furusato" (Hometown), "Sen no kaza ni natte" (As a Thousand Winds).
