| | Meet the Artist: Stella Zhang in Person at the CCC Gallery Saturday, August 14th, 2010 750 Kearny St. 94108 3rd Floor Foyer 2-3:00 pm
Join us at the CCC gallery for an afternoon with Stella Zhang, the featured artist of the 2010 Xian Rui ("Fresh & Sharp") Artist Excellence Exhibition Series. The Exhibition Series--made possible by the generosity of the Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation--is an annual solo exhibition curated by the Chinese Culture Center to showcase the work of an incredibly talented but under-represented Chinese artist in America. In previous years the Series has featured artists such as Dora Hsiung and Beili Liu.This year's extraordinary feature artist, Stella Zhang, was born in Beijing and studied in both China and Japan before moving to the United States. Zhang's uniquely complex and engaging 0-Viewpoint installation explores the constantly shifting inner landscapes of self and femininity. Join us on August 14th for a dialogue with the artist as she introduces not only the inspirations and creative process behind her 0-Viewpoint exhibit but hosts the premiere of a documentary on the artistic process behind 0-Viewpoint's creation. While you're here, take a tour of the gallery and help yourself to light refreshments.
