News from Snow Lion

Dear Subscriber,

When faced with difficult or distracting situations around us, both in our personal lives and in the world, how can we maintain our center? How is it possible to remain peaceful and focused when so many things are pulling us in different directions?

Several popular songs give us hints of how we can recover our balance, with lyrics like "breathe, just breathe". It's in the air, and it's in our energy flow. In the Buddhist tradition there are some important actions we can take to recover our center by noticing our breathing, and being aware of the flow of energy, both in our bodies and in the world around us.

Of course, it helps to have some tools, some techniques, to remind us of our practice, in order to rebound more quickly. So we're featuring a few items that we hope will help our readers remain centered and calm amidst the disturbances and challenges of life.

Another tip...many people have found the newly-published and very popular book Enough! to be helpful in gaining balance and remaining focused.
