Dear Explorer, Meet the students of Marsh Fork Elementary School in Sundial, West Virginia. These children have hopes of becoming doctors, directors, and even zoologists, but the very environment in which they learn may compromise their dreams. The school is located beneath a precarious toxic coal slurry pond and 150 feet away sits a coal loading silo that releases hazardous coal dust.
With support from the Annenberg Foundation, explore.org has provided a grant to re-locate and re-build the school in the safe environment that these children and their dreams deserve.
