Membership before Durga Puja, two community events

As you can already feel, Durga Puja is approaching fast, and we are busy preparing for our Mega Durgotsav. Many thanks go to all members who have renewed their membership, and to those who became new members. This year we having three days of festival during Durga Puja. Events start on Friday Oct 15, and go on the entire weekend till Sunday Oct 17. The venue is - Chabot College, Hayward. Among the stars you will see during those three days, are Sunidhi Chauhan (from Mumbai), Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta and Saayantanee Majumdar from Kolkata. We have a new Durga protima from Kolkata. Mark you calendars - Friday Oct 15 and the rest of the weekend.
Membership will stop soon
This year we have had an overwhelming response to membership. So much so that we will be stopping our membership drive very soon. We want to provide our members the best seats in all cultural programs - including those during Durga Puja. So if you are still sitting on the sidelines, pleaserenew your membershipquickly before time runs out, orbecome a new memberand start enjoying the benefits immediately.Membership comes withlots of benefitsand it turns out to be economical over the long run. All cultural programs, including Sunidhi Chauhan's live show are free for members.
Community Program: Chhandam
Chitresh Das Dance company and Chhandam School is presenting this weekend and the next weekend an International Festival of Dance and music. Prabasi is partnering with Chhandam for their performance this weekend. Prabasi members get a 10% discount.
Somlata Chowdhury is the winner of 2010 Star Jalsa Entertainment Award for the music category: Agami Diner Star-2010. She will be having a show in the Bay Area on the weekend following Durga Puja:

Durga Puja is not complete without the participation of local artists. We are glad to announce that we have an assortment of programs performed by local artists during this year's puja who are spending countless hours rehearsing for the show.
We are proud to be the biggest and oldest Bengali community of the Bay Area and are committed to bring you the best from Kolkata, Mumbai and the Bay Area as well.
