Screening: "The Ralph Lazo Story" based on the fact of the wartime internment, Feb 5, 2 - 2:30 PM
Little Tokyo Branch Library, Nikkei for Civil Rights & Redress (NCRR), and Visual Communications present screening of "Stand Up For Justice: The Ralph Lazo Story" on Saturday, February 5, 2-3:30 pm at Little Tokyo Branch Library, 203 S. Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
A 30-minute film based on the true story of a 16-year-old, Mexican-Irish American high school student from Los Angeles who stood by his Japanese American friends when they were sent to concentration camps during World War II.
Ralph Lazo voluntarily lived at the Manzanar concentration camp as the only non-Japanese (non-spouse), was drafted from the camp, and in later years continued to support his Japanese American friends in the fight for redress and reparations.
