Yesterday the New York Times gave a big shout out to San Francisco Chinatown and included the CCC in its list of must-see attractions for visitors to the city. The article highlights our community as a premier destination during the Chinese New Year's season, and features a conversation with CCC Deputy Program Director Fengyuan Ji. "With the Year of the Rabbit beginning Feb. 3, a visit to San Francisco's Chinatown is a great way to experience Chinese-American culture."

Register for Children's Mandarin The CCC's winter classes are underway and we are still taking registration for our Children's Mandarin class. Get your little one started early in one of the CCC's most engaging courses, which teaches via games and language immersion.
The teacher, Emily Peng, is an educator at heart. She has designed numerous games of colors, numbers, animals and greeting phrases. She plays like a child, making learning really fun.
Class is scheduled on every Saturday, from 10 to 11:30am at the Culture Center, 750 Kearny Street, 3rd Floor. Parents are welcome to stay in the classroom with their children. Ten session classes are $200 for non-CCC members and $175 for CCC members. Its not too late to join!!

Become a docent for the CCC's Chinatown Heritage Walking Tour!
Our Chinatown Heritage Walking tour presents a unique look into the history and contemporary culture of San Francisco Chinatown, the oldest Chinatown in the Western Hemisphere and home to one of the largest Chinese communities outside of China. We are preparing to hold our first docent training of 2011 to recruit new ambassadors for Chinatown, and would love for you to join us!
We will be having our first docent training on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 9am-1pm at our offices. For more information, sign up with Jenny at jenny@c-c-c.org. Lunch will be provided and a free membership will be provided for participating.
