The 8th season of popular drama series "Mobile Detective Zenigata Yui" will begin airing in Japan and USA at same time. 

 

New main character is Anri Okamoto, fashion model and actress in Japan.  Zenigata Yui is an ultra-smart detective with IQ180 whose grandfather is the Superintendent General of the Metropolitan Police.  She challenges to solve many difficult cases by using mobile phone. New season introduces her new partner, actor Takuro Tatsumi.

It is the 61st Red & White Music Festival this year.  After 60th celebration last year, this year's Festival is a new step toward coming new era. 

 

This year's common concept is "Connect with songs".  We live in time of multi-media, where digital TV, Cell phone and Internet has been spread; however, it never changes that songs always connect people and their mission is to send this message to the world.  The hosts of this year is the popular group Arashi for White Team and Nao Matsushita for the Red Team. This is the first time for either of them to serve as a Kohaku host.

Harumi Kurihara Cooking & Talk Show

Celebrity homemaker and television personality Harumi Kurihara held a cooking and talk show on September 19 at the Marriot Hotel in Torrance.

 

Although she has done many cooking shows in Japan, this was her first time in the U.S. Over 550 fans welcomed Kurihara, whose cooking lesson was on cooking with leftover ingredients. Kurihara's recipes included picked cucumbers, ginger rice, carrot and tuna salad and celery and onion chicken meatballs.

 

After the cooking show, Kurihara spoke about and gave advice on family and health.  Harumi Kurihara is one of the best-known cookery writers in Japan.

 

Her recipes, based on Japanese home cooking, are full of her original ideas and are loved by many people of all generations.

 

During her 20-year career as a cookery writer, she has published 108 books with a total number of copies printed exceeding 20 million and has introduced more than 4,000 original recipes.
