Pianist and composer Nobuyuki Tsujii who won the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition will appear in his Los Angeles premiere under a UCLA Live program on April 3, 2011.

Tsujii will perform Schumann's Piano Quintet as a guest soloist for the Takács Quartet, world-renowned string ensemble. Takács Quartet delivers classic repertoire with drama, warmth and humor.

The programs of the Takács Quartet include Haydn's String Quartet Op. 74 No. 3 and Bartok's String Quartet No. 1.

Born blind, the 22-year-old prodigy began his study at the age of 4 and won the gold medal in the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
