Internet broadcasting event to relay peace massages by peace advocate mayors in the world, Aug 4
In commemorating Hiroshima Day, an Internet broadcasting event of relaying messages by mayors of peace advocate cities such as Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Hanover, and Volsgogrado, will take place on Wednesday, August 4 from 4:15 - 5:15 pm.
Irvine-based non-profit organization Live Forum and the UCLA Tersaki Center for Japanese Studies sponsor "World Peace Pageant 2010" on Ustream and its viewing site, www.liveforum.org/pageant2010
The main venue will be set at Room 352 (William A. Lessa Reading Room) of the Department of Anthropology, Haines Hall 3rd Floor, UCLA.
The program will be on air at 4:15 pm in Los Angeles time on August 4, exactly one day earlier than the memorial day of Atomic-bombing on Hiroshima in Japan time.
The Internet broadcasting program includes video messages from Hiroshima Mayor Tadanori Akiba, Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang, Live Forum's documentary "No more Hibakusha (A-bomb survivors) 1-2-3...!," a video of Hiroshima memorial service in Los Angeles on August 1, and online questions and answers session.
Viewers will be able to participate in the online session with Ustream's chat window or connecting to Skype's name, pageant2010.
The video document "No more Hibakusha" was nominated for a Grand Prix at the 52nd Southern California Journalism Awards, which was selected from among 500 entries.
